Often, I get a lot of email come in the in-box with Dear (my name), you have expressed interest by attending xyz on pdq and so forth.
It is obvious that it was generated by a system, broadcasting a lot of email that will get ignored or put in the spam bucket.
It is more impressive to me and causes me to take notice, is if the email gets very specific and notes how I interacted with the company recently.
Amazon does this when you buy a certain product, by suggesting other things you might like.
Imagine a system however, that could read your online presence or buying, tech support calls, or other behavior with your company, and decide how to craft a customized marketing message that you would be more likely interested in.
That would be awesome.
