Blind form - untrusted connection

We've recently encountered a few problems with blind forms while trying to give customers whitepapers.

While we have accepted the "Add Exception" security token, we have encountered our stakeholders coming back and informing us that the links do not work because of the additional gateway.

I'm sure you've all seen it, it's this bad boy:

I know the problem goes away once you add the exception, but there has got to be a cleaner way of doing this.

Are we doing something wrong? What're your thoughts Topliners?
