This document includes common questions related to the 2015 Modern Marketing Luminary Status. For your convenience, questions are broken into three main sections – Luminary Exam, Luminary Hands-On Practical and the Application for Luminary Status. Luminary Exam
What content will be covered in the Luminary Exam?
The Luminary exam contains a variety of multiple choice and true/false questions covering the E10 Fundamentals series, the Revenue Performance Management series and all courses in the 5 Tenet specialties. You can see list of the Tenet specialty courses here.
I've completed the prerequisites for the 2015 Luminary (Masters Exam and all Tenet courses), but don’t see the exam listed on my Current Enrollments tab in Eloqua University.
Access to the Luminary exam is assigned two times per month to all who earned eligibility. You will be notified via email when the exam is available to you and you will see it listed on your Current Enrollments tab in Eloqua University. If you believe you have become eligible in the previous two weeks, but were not notified and do not see the exam on your Current Enrollments tab, please contact Eloqua University directly at eloqua-university_ww@oracle.com for troubleshooting.
I thought I was ready to take the Luminary Exam, but have been told one or more of the courses I’ve taken are not complete on my transcript. Why?
Instructor led training (ILT) sessions are not considered fully complete until a student completes an online evaluation. Learn more here about how to submit evaluations.
What is the best way to study for the Luminary Exam?
This exam is challenging and we recommend you study before attempting it. These are our recommended study tips:
- Review Student Guides– The Luminary exam will cover E10 Fundamentals series, the Revenue Performance Management series, and all courses in the 5 Tenet specialties. Reviewing the PDF student guides from these sessions is highly encouraged. (Please note: Due to size, guides must be downloaded during your session. Tell your instructor if you have trouble downloading the guide from the Webinar interface so they can help troubleshoot.)
- Review Quiz Questions– The PDF student guides include many pop-quiz and review slides. These are very helpful for studying as they generally highlight the key learning points from each section of a course.
- Practice Hands-On Exercises– For sessions that include hands-on exercises, the PDF guide will include step-by-step instructions for reference. Practicing these exercises is helpful, especially for functionality you’re not very familiar with
- Review Notes– If you took notes during a course, especially a WBT session where downloadable guides are not available, be sure to review them!
How can I see my score for the Luminary exam?
It is very important when you reach the final test screen that you click View your results in order to see your score. Once you leave this screen you will no longer be able to see your score and Eloqua University can only confirm your pass / fail status.
I passed the Luminary Exam, does that make me a 2015 Modern Marketing Luminary?
Not yet! To earn the 2014 Modern Marketing Luminary status, an individual will be required to successfully complete these THREE items – the 2014 Luminary Exam (you’ve done that!), the Hands-On Practical and a Thought Leadership blog post. Review this post to learn more about Steps 2 and 3.
Luminary Hands-On Practical (Sandbox Exercise)
I have passed the 2015 Luminary exam, but have not received login credentials to the Luminary Eloqua Sandbox.
Congratulations on passing the Luminary exam! You should receive an auto-generated email from Eloqua within 7 business days of passing the exam. If you passed the Luminary exam and have not received credentials after 7 days, please contact Eloqua University directly at eloqua-university_ww@oracle.com for troubleshooting.
I have received login credentials to the Luminary Eloqua Sandbox, but they are not working.
Before attempting to log in to the Eloqua sandbox, be sure you are fully logged out of your own corporate install. You may first need to log in to your environment and click the “log out” button or clear your cookies. When logging in to the Sandbox for the first time you will find you need to reset your password. It is important to remember that passwords in Eloqua are case sensitive. Verify you are entering the correct credentials and if they are still not working, click “Forgot Password” below the “Sign In to ELOQUA” button to reset. You may also contact Eloqua University directly at eloqua-university_ww@oracle.com for troubleshooting.
I submitted the form with the errors I found in the Sandbox campaign, but haven’t heard back. Did I pass that step?

Application for Luminary Status
What is the deadline to apply for the 2015 Modern Marketing Luminary Status?
VERY IMPORTANT -- Applications must be received by December 15, 2015 in order to qualify for the 2015 Modern Marketing Luminary status. No exceptions will be granted.
What will happen if I complete part, but not all, of the requirements by the deadline of December 15, 2015? Will I have to start over in 2016?
If you complete some, but not all, of the requirements after December 15, 2015 you will no longer be eligible for the 2015 Luminary, and will be encouraged to apply for the 2016 Luminary status. The good news is, you don't have to start over! Anything you've already completed will count towards the 2016 Luminary. There will be some additional requirements in 2016 to make sure applicants are current in the latest best practices and product updates. Requirements for the 2016 Luminary status will be announced in late 2015.
I submitted the 2015 Application for Luminary status, but haven’t heard back. The suspense is KILLING me!
You’re in the home stretch! The Luminary Committee will review your submission to confirm you have completed the necessary requirements. We will contact you within 5 business days with your approval or next steps. It's official, I'm a 2015 Modern Marketing Luminary! When will I get my Topliners badge?
First off, did you know that you're kind of a big deal? Achieving Luminary status is not easy and you should be incredibly proud. Normally we issue Eloqua University badges on a monthly basis, but we'll make sure your Luminary badge is updated on Topliners within a week of confirming your status. Congratulations!
I went through all the trouble to become a 2014 Luminary, do I have to do everything again?
Congratulations on earning the 2014 Luminary. That's a massive achievement! You DO NOT need to do all the work again, you will have an abbreviated path to renew. Specific requirements for the 2014 to 2015 "Bridge" can be found here.
